career summary

Colin Battersby
Whether you realise it or not, every  community either 'builds walls' of cultural  intolerance or 'tears them down'. We need to move beyond good intentions to create strategic 'social spaces' where respectful  'listening and  learning' becomes our new paradigm.
I’m a social educator, facilitator and change leader known for developing innovative programs to support  schools, churches and other organisations in their intercultural learning and community engagement.

Previously, I was a technical advisor and partnership broker for World Vision Australia's Indigenous Programs, providing community facilitation and thought leadership in the areas of Indigenous reconciliation and gender-based violence.

I have recognised success in mobilising Australian youth and adults to become active and influential global citizens, engaged in social justice initiatives and community relationship-building.

Experienced in public speaking, workshop facilitation, strategic planning, partnership brokering and program development, I can help your community to:

  • create the appropriate spaces for intercultural learning and relationship-building

  • develop community programs and initiatives tailored to your group's aspirations

  • design qualitative and quantitative diagnostic tools to help you monitor and assess your community impact
